
With forecasted highs in the 90s, county officials say the shelters will remain open for 24 hours, hot meals will be provided, no one will be turned away, and pets are welcome.
Current locations for the overnight cooling shelters are listed below:
- Just Compassion Access Center
- 12264 SW Hall Blvd. Tigard
- Accessible via TriMet route numbers 52, 76 and 78
- Blanton Street Building
- 20665 SW Blanton St., Aloha
- Front building closest to Blanton St, entrance next to the flagpole
- Accessible via TriMet route number 57 and 88

For other public cooling spaces, such as pools and splashpads, check Washington County’s interactive cooling map.
Additionally, Multnomah County has reopened two daytime cooling centers from noon to 9 p.m.:
- Multnomah County East Building: 600 NE 8th St., Gresham
- Friendly House, 1737 NW 26th Ave., Portland
Three Multnomah County libraries will again extend their hours to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
- Central Library: 801 SW 10th Ave., Portland
- Gresham Library: 385 NW Miller Ave., Gresham
- Midland Library: 805 SE 122nd Ave., Portland
Clackamas County also has a list of current cooling shelters are listed on their website.
A KOIN 6 Weather Alert remains in place through the weekend, as does an Extreme Heat Warning for the Willamette Valley through Tuesday from the National Weather Service.
Further, due to the extreme heat, TriMet says they will not turn away who cannot pay far while traveling to a cooling center between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday.
However, all MAX trains may be experiencing delays up to 30 minutes and officials encourage commuters to check here for the latest on delays before traveling.
