Sunday Conversation: U.S. Senate candidate Derek Dooley talks about his move from coaching to politics

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Former college and NFL coach Derek Dooley is moving out of one arena and into another.

The former University of Tennessee head football coach is now a candidate for U.S. Senate. Dooley is running in the crowded Republican primary. The winner will likely face Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff.

Dooley sat down with WRBL’s Chuck Williams for the Sunday Conversation last week. He talked about the transition from football to politics. In this wide-ranging interview, Dooley talks about President Trump and his leadership, his conversation with U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, and the road he hopes to take to the Senate.
