London man allegedly found hiding in shed charged in May armed robbery investigation
LONDON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A London man was arrested on Friday evening just outside of town and charged in connection with a Laurel County gas station robbery in late May.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media that just after 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 22, Hunter Steele, 23, was found near Flatwoods Frozen Camp Road, about 10 miles southwest of London.

Deputies wrote that Steele was found “hiding in a shed on property there.” He allegedly had a gun that was reported stolen.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

He was arrested in connection with a warrant for a May 23 robbery at the Shell station on KY 770. According to authorities, Steele allegedly entered the gas station with an assault rifle, demanding money and leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was charged with first-degree robbery and receiving a stolen firearm, and was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center on a $50,000 bond. He’s set to appear in court at 11 a.m. on Monday.
