INTERVIEW: Hmong 50 Festival

INTERVIEW: Hmong 50 Festival

A very unique cultural experience is taking place at the Minnesota State Capitol on Saturday.

The Hmong 50 Festival is an event meant to be a cultural celebration honoring the Hmong culture through music, dance, cuisine and storytelling.

The “50” is because 2025 marks the 50th year that Hmong American and other Southeast Asian refugees arrived in the United States.

“We’re basically having this festival to thank America, thank our elders, thank our veterans for bringing us here and becoming American,” Steve Thao, Executive Director for the Center for Hmong Arts and Talent, said.
