In the tropics, two areas are being monitored. The first is Tropical Storm Fernand which will move into open Atlantic waters and not affect any land areas. The second area is a tropical wave approaching the Lesser Antilles. While development is not expected in the next few days, this system has a better chance of development once it reaches the western Caribbean later this week. It first, though, has to battle dry air and wind shear and it it very possible it doesn’t survive the journey. Still, we will keep a close watch on it through the next week.
Locally, dry weather continues Monday before humidity returns Tuesday. Rain chances tick up Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of a front that will bring drier conditions towards the end of the week. This next front could be a bit stronger and bring slightly cooler temperatures, as well as drier air. Let’s hope it stays on track!
