Current Justice of the Peace/Police Chief Eddie Griffin seeks re-election

As Eddie Griffin continues his first term as the District 8 Justice of the Peace he has announced his intent to seek re-election. In an interview with KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News, Griffin was first asked why he is seeking re-election and Griffin stated he enjoys the process, what’s going on with the community and enjoys serving so, in his mind it was a simple decision.With a unique perspective of being both the Mountain Home Chief of Police as well as serving on the Quorum Court, Griffin was asked how he was able to manage both of those this past year.

Among the most talked about issues to come up during his tenure is the dissolvement of the Airport Commission, when asked how the Airport Advisory Board and the airport as a whole is running since that decision, Griffin says that he feels the people appointed by the judge to the advisory board are well versed in what is going on and there has been no negative feedback pertaining to that decision.

The topic of the Economic Development Committee and the new Aldi store were mentioned and Griffin describes what he looks forward to with future involvement of the committee in the court.

Griffin was appointed as police chief for MHPD in 2021. He is a 1983 graduate of Mountain Home High School and then served in the United States Army. He received a Criminal Justice Degree from Arkansas State University Mountain Home and is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.
