Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office hosts free rifle sight-in days

BOSSIER, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — With hunting season approaching, the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office will open its rifle range to the public on select dates in September to help hunters sight in their rifles.

The rifle range, located at 2955 Old Plain Dealing Road, will be available September 6, 13, and 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each date. Basic targets will be set up at 100, 200, 300, and 400 yards.

“Our deputies will be on hand to assist and ensure safety, giving hunters confidence in knowing that their equipment is prepared before they head into the woods,” Sheriff Julian Whittington said in a news release. “We are happy to provide this service to our community and support our local sportsmen and women.”

There is no charge to use the range during the designated sight-in days. Shooters are required to bring their own rifles, ammunition, eye protection, and ear protection. Basic safety rules will be enforced at all times.
