Restaurant fire extinguished in Merrifield shopping center

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Crews with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department (FCFRD) were able to extinguish a kitchen fire that broke out in the early morning hours on Friday.

In a social media post, FCFRD said it was called to a shopping center in the 3000 block of Nutley Street in Merrifield at around 4:15 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke in the area.

There, units found that one of the restaurants had a fire in its kitchen. A photo shared on X showed FCFRD near Glory Days Grill and a cleaners’ shop in the center.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and there were no reported injuries.
