TERREBONNE PARISH (WGNO) — A man was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and run in Terrebonne Parish.
According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Jamie L. Wallace Sr. was taken into custody and faces charges of hit-and-run driving resulting in death and second-degree murder.
On Friday, Aug. 22, shortly before 1:00 p.m., deputies responded to a parking lot near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Highway 24 Main Street, regarding a pedestrian related vehicle crash. Deputies located a seriously injured Lockport man, who was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
TPSO officials said surveillance footage of the crash indicated that the victim may have been intentionally targeted by the driver. They said deputies located the suspect vehicle at a nearby business and accused Wallace as the driver. He was arrested and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.
TPSO officials said the identity of the victim is being withheld for investigatory reasons.
