Staff report

INDIANAPOLIS — The roar of endurance racing will return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in just one month when the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks hits the track Sept. 19–21.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will bring prototypes and GT cars back to the Racing Capital of the World for a six-hour race against the clock. Organizers said last year’s event came down to the final lap, and they expect another close finish this year.

Festivities begin Thursday, Sept. 18, with the IMSA Street Festival. The free, family-friendly event in downtown Indianapolis will feature race cars on display, pit stop demonstrations, driver appearances and more.

Race fans also have the chance to take part in several extras throughout the weekend. The Corvette Car Corral package includes three-day admission, infield parking, hospitality, and even a Sunday track lap. Camping inside the speedway will also be available, offering fans a chance to stay overnight in the infield with a front-row view of the racing action.

Discounted ticket pricing is available until Sept. 12, officials said. Parking passes can also be purchased in advance to avoid race-day delays.
