Baxter Health suspends full coffee service amid temperature concerns


Baxter Health is upgrading its coffee machines after discovering that the current equipment does not properly regulate temperature. The hospital says the existing machines were producing coffee that was too hot, raising safety concerns for patients and employees.In an interview with KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot, Anthony Reed, Vice President of Ancillary Services, explained the reasoning behind the change:

Reed also addressed the timeline for the new machines. While the replacement process is expected to take three to four weeks, he is working closely with the vendor to see if that timeline can be expedited.

During the interim, coffee is available free of charge in the hospital cafeteria for employees and visitors. Staff members, including those on night shifts, are encouraged to bring a thermos if needed.

Baxter Health says the safety of its patients and employees is the priority, and the temporary measures ensure everyone on campus can still enjoy a cup of coffee while the new machines are installed.
