The USPIS announced Thursday that it was now offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two people who they believe are responsible for several mail theft incidents in the West Loop and Fulton Market.
Officials did not provide details on when the incidents occurred, but said they all unfolded at residential buildings.
Inspectors say the first individual is believed to be a Black male in his 30s, with a stocky build and dreadlocks, who is also believed to stand between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10.
A photo provided by USPIS of the individual sought shows him with a white N95 mask and a head wrap, though it is unclear if those same items were worn during each incident.
Inspectors say the first individual is known to accompany another Black male who also has a stocky build and is believed to be in his late 20s and stands about 5’7″ tall.
Postal inspectors warn anyone who sees the individuals described to avoid confrontation and instead call authorities.
Anyone with information regarding the individuals is asked to contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455. When connected, say “law enforcement” and reference case number 4315597.
USPIS says all information provided to investigators will remain confidential.
