Listen up, all Andy Griffith Show fans! You no longer have to visit Mount Airy, North Carolina to feel the nostalgia from the show.
A Smiths Station barber has brought memorable pieces of the iconic show to his shop.
Justin Mangum, the owner of Justin’s barbershop, had recently purchased the show’s barbershop set up after becoming friends with the owner of Floyd’s City Barbershop in Mount Airy.
Mangum says that when he found out the barbershop was closing, he knew he had to have those iconic pieces from the show.
“He put it up for sale, and local news did an article saying, ‘hey, the shop is for sale, the most iconic barbershop in America,”‘ Mangum said. “And I am very surprised that people didn’t reach out.”
He added, “So when I asked Bill, I said, ‘Bill, whatever you have I want,’ and Bill said, ‘it’s yours, come get it,'” Mangum recalled.
Mangum told WRBL News 3 that his barbershop has a new slogan: “Sit where Andy sat, where Floyd’s chair still lives on.”
Show fans can stop by and check out the barbershop set up, while getting a trim at Justin’s Barbershop, located at 9209 Lee County 246, Smiths Station, AL 36877.
