Last month, on July 22, detectives were notified by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner that the cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

On July 28, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Taylor.

On Monday, SJPD homicide detectives assisted by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Gang Surveillance Task Force located and apprehended Taylor in the city of Palmdale. Taylor, a San Jose resident, was transported back to San Jose and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for child abuse resulting in death.

The incident, police said, was the city’s 29th homicide of 2024.
