ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Alexandria Hackman, 18, for allegedly trying to commit armed robbery in the parking lot of Swedish American Hospital and the BP gas station.

Several officers were called to the BP on East State Street for reports that a woman had stabbed a man outside the BP gas station on August 20, around noon.

The victim told authorities he felt a “sharp poking sensation” on his back, which caused him to jump back. The suspect proceeded to chase him around the parking lot with a knife until he also armed himself with a knife, according to court records.

Hackman fled the scene toward Swedish American Hospital, the man reported.

Authorities responded to the hospital and were taken to Hackman by security officers. She was taken into custody shortly after.

A woman who was in the parking lot told officials that Hackman attempted to rob her at knifepoint as well.

Hackman is charged with aggravated battery to a nurse, aggravated battery while using a deadly weapon, aggravated battery of an officer and armed robbery without a firearm.

Her mugshot was not readily available.
