Mare Island Dock of the Bay festival showcases Vallejo’s finest

(KRON) – Mare Island Dock of the Bay musical festival has announced its headliners with the ultimate ode to the City of Vallejo. 

All of the performers were born and raised in Vallejo, spanning multiple generations.  

Trailblazing R&B/Funk band Con Funk Shun is set to grace the Dock of the Bay stage again.

If you are too young to know who the group Con Funk Shun is, their hit song “Love Train” has been sampled and covered numerous times. The most popular being Silk Sonic’s rendition of the ballad.

One of the most influential Bay Area rappers, who even has his own street in the city, E-40, is slated to perform. The hip-hop icon has a decades-long career, known for his singles “Tell When to Go” and “U and Dat.”

LaRussell was known in Vallejo for his backyard concerts. The rapper is now recognized for his singles “Again” and “What We Doin’!?”

Latin rapper Baby Bash, known for his singles “Cyclone” and “Suga Suga,” is slated to perform as well. 

Dock of the Bay, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6, will be held at 860 Nimitz Ave.
