
Kelly announced in a press release on Aug. 22 that she is directing flags to be lowered to the half-staff position to honor 18th Judicial District Division 10 Judge Bruce Brown. Brown died on Aug. 21.
“Judge Brown had a long career of service to his community and commitment throughout his tenure on the bench,” Kelly said. “On behalf of the State of Kansas, I thank him for his dedication to upholding the law. My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.”
Kelly said the half-staff order will remain in effect at the State Capitol Complex along with all court buildings and facilities until Brown is interred. The flag order will be updated when the date of internment for Brown is set.
