Coleman PD reported at 9:46 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, that it is searching for Robert Mack Walters, a 44-year-old man from Coleman. The agency said “public safety first responders and concerned citizens combined forces late Thursday afternoon” after Walters “evaded arrest on foot in Coleman” during an attempt by law enforcement to take him into custody on multiple outstanding warrants.
Walters is wanted on one count of causing injury to an elderly family member, a third-degree felony, and one count of making a terroristic threat against a family member, a class B misdemeanor. Other charges are pending against him.
Walters is described as a white male measuring 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has a shaved head, green eyes and “numerous tattoos on his entire body, including his last name tattooed on his chest.” He was last seen wearing a “a red T-shirt, ball cap, blue jeans and boots.”

Walters is considered to be a “dangerous individual” by law enforcement. Coleman PD stated that, if he is located, 911 should be called immediately.
“Stay on the line with the 9-1-1 call taker, and provide updates on the physical description, location, and direction of travel until law enforcement arrives,” Coleman PD said. “Citizens are encouraged to not approach or attempt to apprehend Walters.”
As an “added level of prevention and protection,” the police department also encourages citizens “to remove the keys from all vehicles, remove all valuables, and lock the doors of vehicles, businesses, residences, and outbuildings at all times.”
