Big changes in your Columbus, Ga forecast

COLUMBUS, Ga.- Get ready to dodge storms for Friday Night Football. Any storms that develop will have a chance for heavy rainfall. The best chance for flooding will be across central Georgia this evening.

Weekend: Readings will cool down this weekend thanks to more clouds in the forecast. Highs will sit in the mid-80s. The stalled out front will continue to bring unsettled weather through Sunday.

Next Week: Highs will rebound into the 90s on Monday for a short time. A cold front is set to enter that afternoon. Behind the front, get ready for plenty of sunshine and a taste of fall. Afternoon temperatures will drop into the low 80s/upper 70s by mid-week. Plus, morning temperatures will sit in the lower 60s.

Tropics: Erin has now become post-tropical in the northern Atlantic with winds up to 115mph. It will continue to the northeast over the next several days and continue to weaken. We are monitoring two other areas in the Atlantic:

• Area #1: Southwest Atlantic: A tropical storm is likely to form over the next two days. If one does develop, it is expected to stay east of Erin’s track because of the strong front moving in. The next name on the list is Fernand.
• Area #2: Central Atlantic: This area has a 30% chance over the next 2 days and a 40% chance over the next week of development. There is still much uncertainty regarding this storm.
