All five defendants charged with bribing a juror in last year’s Feeding Our Future trial have now pleaded guilty, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The last holdout, 43-year-old Said Farah, entered a guilty plea on Thursday. He had pleaded not guilty in July 2024 but signaled his intent to change that plea back in May.
Said Farah was among the first seven defendants to stand trial for their alleged roles in defrauding the Federal Child Nutrition Program under the sponsorship of the now-defunct nonprofit Feeding Our Future. He was one of two defendants who were acquitted.
Before the case went to the jury for deliberation, one juror reported that a woman had dropped off a $120,000 cash bribe at her home, with a promise of more if she delivered an acquittal. That juror was later dismissed.
Charging documents state Said Farah helped gather the bribe money. Also involved in the bribery scheme were Said Farah’s brothers, Abdiaziz Farah, one of the five people convicted during last year’s trial, and Abdulkarim Farah, who accompanied codefendant Ladan Ali in delivering the money. The fifth defendant, Abdimajid Nur, assisted in researching the juror’s home address and background.
No sentencing date has been set for any of the five codefendants.
