The timing for the worst of Hurricane Erin’s impacts on these areas will be overnight Thursday and into Friday morning, according to Storm Team Meteorologist Rachel Duensing, who is in Rodanthe to bring us the latest on conditions there, where two homes are near collapse.

“Dangerous rip currents and rough surf will continue Wednesday through Friday as swells from Hurricane Erin impact the area beaches. An elevated rip current risk will likely persist into the upcoming weekend as well,” said the National Weather Service.
