DALLAS (KDAF) — Abilene has been identified as the metro area with the highest house price increase in Texas during the first half of 2025, according to a new study.

The study analyzed house price data across all 50 U.S. states to determine which metro areas experienced the most substantial property value changes between January and June 2025.

Abilene leads in house price growth in Texas, with values jumping from $245,950 to $283,758, marking a 15.4% increase in just six months. Texarkana takes second place, with home prices increasing by 14.8%, climbing from $232,500 to $267,000, while Athens saw a 7.4% increase in median house prices, rising from $337,350 to $362,450.

Laredo saw the smallest price growth among Texas’s metro areas, with a -0.6% change, as the median home price moved from $261,500 in January to $260,000 in June. Killeen-Temple also recorded limited growth, with house prices rising by 0.2%.

The study highlights significant variations in house price growth across Texas, with Abilene leading the charge, while other areas like Laredo saw minimal changes.
