According to officials, President R. Tyler Wallis was shot once in their home in Mexico City at approximately 2 a.m. The intruder was attempting a robbery when the attack took place. His wife, Sister Wallis, was not harmed during the incident.
President Wallis has been receiving medical care in an intermediate care unit in Mexico City and was in stable condition and responded well to treatment. He is recuperating after his hospital release.
President and Sister Wallis have expressed gratitude for prayers offered in their behalf. Church officials confirmed the Wallis’ are enthusiastic about returning to serve as mission leaders in the Mexico Mexico City West Mission.
