The Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said 31-year-old Karriem Jackson was convicted on Tuesday on multiple counts of first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding and other related offenses.
The charges against him stem from the early morning hours of Nov. 1, 2020, when Prince William County Police were dispatched to a house party after receiving reports of a shooting with injuries.
There, police found 25-year-old Frank Chineji Sapele and 24-year-old Christopher Alan Johnson had already died from their injuries. Two others were found suffering from serious injuries, officials noted.
Investigators said they learned that while at the party, Jackson started fighting with someone who lived at the home. He then pulled out a gun and hit the person over the head with it.
After he was told to leave the party, Jackson fired multiple rounds into the crowd of partygoers, killing Sapele and Johnson and leaving two others hurt.
Jackson was charged less than a week after the shooting.
He was convicted on Aug. 19, and is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 5.
