Father Jim Sichko had already worked to secure a Spiderman-themed casket and vault for 10-year-old Spicer, who was found dead on Aug. 12 by Kentucky State Police, but that didn’t stop him from paying $20,000 for families who “had outstanding balances for whatever reasons,” he said.
Sichko also wrote on Facebook that he made sure Jayden and his late grandmother, who he lived with and was laid to rest beside on Thursday, would both have proper gravestones.
“Hate and evil can never surpass God’s mercy!” Father Sichko wrote.
Aug. 21 has been officially declared Jayden Spicer Day in Breathitt County.
