According to the DA, the shooting occurred at 11:30 p.m. on the 100 block of West 21st Street in Chester.
“Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the District Attorney’s Office responded on scene and are conducting an independent investigation pursuant to my office’s policies. I will await the full investigation, but I can say preliminarily that officers involved were fired upon and justifiably returned fire in their own defense. Thankfully, by the Grace of God, no police officers were injured in this incident,” said District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer.
“The suspect who fired on the officers was injured by police gunfire and is currently receiving medical care at a local hospital. He will be charged with the appropriate crimes in due course,” said District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer.
