According to Morgan County Jail records, J.L. McCrary Jr. was arrested on August 18 and charged with enticing a child, a girl, for immoral purposes.
Court documents show McCrary tried to persuade or invite, or attempt to entice a girl under the age of 16 to enter a vehicle, building or other place for the purpose of “proposing to such child the performance of an act of sexual intercourse, or an act which constitutes the offense of sodomy, or for the purpose of proposing the fondling or feeling of the sexual or genital parts of such child… or for the purpose of proposing that such child fondle or feel the sexual or genital parts of said J.L. McCrary Jr.”
Records show McCrary Jr. pleaded guilty to the charge that same day.
A Morgan County Judge sentenced McCrary Jr. on August 20 to 15 years in the Alabama Department of Corrections. The sentence is split to serve three years in ADOC and then he will be on state-supervised probation for 60 months.
