Wisconsin health officials warn residents of possible measles outbreak from out-of-state traveler

Health officials are warning some Wisconsin residents of a possible measles exposure from an out-of-state traveler.

The investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Human Services (DHS), St. Croix County Public Health Department and Rock County Public Health has identified two public locations and times where people may have been exposed:

Flying J Travel Center #470 in Roberts, Wis., on Aug. 4 between 7:15 and 10 a.m.

Pilot Travel Center #289 in Beloit, Wis., on Aug. 4 between 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

People at those locations during the dates and times should check their immunization status to see if they received the measles vaccine.

Wisconsin DHS says these exposures are not related to the cases previously confirmed in the state.

As of Tuesday, nine cases of measles have been confirmed in Wisconsin.
