Walk to End Alzheimer’s: Join the fight this season 💜
Queen City News Chief Meteorologist Tara Lane and Now Anchor Julian are emceeing the event; both share a personal connection to the cause, having lost loved ones to Alzheimer’s disease.
The Alzheimer’s Association will host 17 walks across North Carolina this fall. Queen City News is a proud partner of five of them happening in our region:
A highlight of every Walk is the powerful Promise Garden Ceremony, where participants hold colorful pinwheel flowers that represent their personal connection to Alzheimer’s. It’s a moving tribute to those living with the disease, caregivers, and those we’ve lost.
Alzheimer’s impacts more than 7 million Americans, with nearly 12 million caregivers helping loved ones through this devastating disease. In North Carolina, over 210,000 people are currently living with Alzheimer’s, including 12.5% of those 65 and older in Mecklenburg County.
Join the fight by signing up for a Walk near you. Click here for more.
