Shakopee concert venue name revealed
A 19,000-person capacity concert venue under construction in Shakopee will be called Mystic Lake Amphitheater when it opens next summer.
Live Nation unveiled Mystic Lake Casino as the amphitheater’s naming rights sponsor on Tuesday.
It will follow the building soon to be known as Grand Casino Arena as the second major venue in the metro to take its name after a tribal casino.

When Mystic Lake Amphitheater arrives next to Canterbury Park, it will be operated by Live Nation as the largest live music venue in the south metro. It will also be incorporated into one of Shakopee’s two social districts, where patrons can move freely with alcoholic beverages.
Canterbury Park sold the 40-acre plot to Swervo Development Corp. in 2023. Swervo previously converted The Armory in downtown Minneapolis from a parking structure to its current use as a music hall.
Another 8,000-seat amphitheater is in the works in north Minneapolis, though no opening date has been announced.
