IDENTIFIED: Woman in Mustang killed in crash near Lemoore

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The woman driving a Mustang who was killed in a crash near Lemoore over the weekend was identified by the Kings County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office identified 21-year-old Marisa Gomez of Lemoore as the woman killed in a crash on Aug. 17, near Lemoore.

The incident happened in the area of 16th Avenue and Lacey Boulevard, at around 11:15 a.m. California Highway Patrol investigators report a woman driving a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, westbound on Lacey Boulevard, was approaching the intersection with 16th Avenue.

Officers say that Gomez, who was driving a 2024 Ford Mustang south of 16th Avenue, failed to yield and entered the intersection, into the path of the Hyundai. The front of the Hyundai struck the driver’s side of the Mustang in a broadside crash; after the impact, the Mustang left the road and crashed into an orchard.

The driver of the Hyundai was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Gomez was also taken to the hospital, where she later died. A GoFundMe was set up to assist Gomez’s family with funeral costs. Those who wish to support them can do so by clicking here.
