CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The investigation into a fire at a home in Clovis on July 4th has established that fireworks were a “contributing factor” in the blaze.
According to the Clovis Fire Department, one home, multiple vehicles, and at least five boats were damaged by the fire, which started in the area of Villa Avenue and Gettysburg Avenue.
While our investigation is ongoing, we can state that fireworks appear to be a contributing factor.

CBS47’s Brian Dorman reported that nearby residents were using garden hoses to try to keep the fire from getting to their homes.
In a statement to YourCentralValley.com, the Clovis Fire Department adds that the investigation into the July 4 fire is not yet complete.
