U.S. District Judge Michael McShane sentenced 40-year-old Christopher Jay Young from North Bend, Oregon, to 180 months in federal prison Aug. 19. Following his prison sentence, he’ll complete 15 months of supervised release and be required to register as a sex offender.
A federal grand jury in Eugene indicted Young on Apr. 14, 2024, charging him with attempting to use a minor to produce a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct and attempting to coerce or entice a minor to engage in unlawful sexual conduct.
As part of a deal, Young pled guilty to attempting to use a minor to produce a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct.
According to court records, Young used a Meta messaging app to tell the minor to send him a sexually explicit video of them. After the minor sent him the video, Young said, “send more babe.”
The documents state that Young was logged into another minor’s Meta account when he sent the messages.
