From July 27 to July 31, Oakland police took 27 guns off the streets
“The Oakland Police Department continues to work hard every day to make our community safer by holding those who commit violent crimes accountable,” OPD said.
On Aug. 11, OPD officers arrested a Suisun resident and seized a gun during a traffic stop. Two days later, officers arrested a suspect and seized “numerous” guns, gun parts and high-capacity magazines while serving a search warrant at a home in Oakland.
On Aug. 14, OPD officers arrested an Oakland resident who was allegedly in possession of an illegal gun.
All of these cases were sent to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
“These results reflect the efforts of the Oakland Police Department, who work tirelessly around the clock to keep our neighborhoods safe,” OPD said. “Our success relies on collaboration with our law enforcement partners and community members. Your tips and trust are essential in identifying suspects, solving cases, and preventing future crimes.”
