Staff report

Bloomington, Ind. — August 17, 2025

Indiana University has suspended all activities of the Palestine Solidarity Committee pending the outcome of a conduct investigation, according to a letter from the Office of Student Conduct.

The university said it received reports alleging the student organization engaged in behavior during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years that violated school policy and posed “an ongoing threat of harm and disruption to the university community.” Allegations include substantial disruption of university operations and damage to university property.

The order requires the group to cease all meetings, events, recruitment and other activities until the investigation is complete. A mandatory meeting must be held with the organization’s membership within five business days, with both an advisor and Student Involvement and Leadership Center staff present.

PSC leadership was also instructed to schedule an individual meeting with the Office of Student Conduct and provide a complete roster of members by noon the following day.

The suspension order prohibits members from gathering outside the required meetings and warns that retaliation or interference with the investigation could lead to additional charges and loss of recognition.

The university said the Palestine Solidarity Committee is expected to cooperate fully with the Office of Student Conduct, the Indiana University Police Department, and the Student Involvement and Leadership Center.
