Fairfield police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a gas station near Central Way at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Authorities found shell casings in the parking lot of the gas station. Per the investigation, witnesses informed police that an argument between two people at a pump resulted in a man firing multiple gunshots in the air. Bystanders described the suspect to the officers and reported that he fled on foot in a southbound direction.
A short time later, according to police, officers detained a man who matched the suspect’s description. Fairfield PD said they located a gun hidden near bushes near where the shooter was found.
The suspect, a 34-year-old Antioch resident, was arrested and booked into the county jail.
