Convicted felon arrested for drug charges in St. Landry Parish

ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) — Narcotics investigation in Leonville resulted in an arrest and seizure of several narcotics, deputies said.

Kendrick Lamar Mayon, 34, of Leonville was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, marijuana, hydrocodone, Methamphetamine, Codeine/Promethazine and Crack Cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, deputies said.

Yesterday deputies surveilled the address of 213 Pleasant Run Road in the Leonville and identified Mayon as a key narcotics violator.

According to deputies, Mayon allegedly drove from the residence, officers were able initiate a traffic stop and searched the vehicle then the residence.

The items seized during the search:

  • 12 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
  • 2.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine
  • 14 grams of suspected marijuana
  • 8 ounces of suspected Codeine
  • 3.5 pills suspected to be Hydrocodone
  • Nearly one pound of synthetic marijuana
  • 15 grams of suspected marijuana
  • 1 bottle of promethazine

Later on, it was discovered that Mayon is a convicted felon and currently out on parole relative to drug charges, deputies said.
