
Just before 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a man who was shot at a shooting pit by Six Tie Road and FS-4510 in an unincorporated area of the county south of Estacada.
Authorities identified the man as Szachary White of Vancouver, Washington, noting White was driven in a private vehicle from the remote area to get help after suffering a life-threatening gunshot wound. It is not clear how many people were present during the shooting or how many people were in the vehicle with White.
Deputies met the vehicle White was driven in on South Hillockburn Road and provided aid until medical personnel took over.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, LifeFlight was activated and planned to meet first responders at the Estacada Fire Station; however, White died before he could be transported.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the shooting, noting they believe there is no danger to the public.
