CHP officer rescues injured owl during North Bay traffic stop
(KRON) — An eagle-eyed California Highway Patrol officer rescued an injured owl from the side of a North Bay highway while conducting a traffic stop, law enforcement said Monday.

Officer Burner was working the traffic stop on Highway 101 in Penngrove when he saw the injured barn owl on the shoulder of the roadway, according to CHP Santa Rosa. Burner scooped up the bird to transport it to the Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue in Petaluma for care.

“We’re swishing this feathered friend a speed recovery,” CHP said.
