West Memphis schools closed Monday due to water advisory

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — West Memphis schools will be closed Monday as a boil-water advisory stretches into another day for the Arkansas city.

West Memphis water customers have been under a boil-water advisory since Saturday and are asked to stop using water unless absolutely essential.

The City of West Memphis says two water transfer pumps failed Friday night. Until repairs are complete, the cannot rebuild pressure in the water system.

They asked customers to stop using any water unless absolutely essential. If you must use water, they asked customers to boil it before drinking or cooking.
