NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero first reported the Saints have traded defensive tackle Khalen Saunders to the Jaguars Sunday night for Jacksonville’s offensive lineman Luke Fortner.
Saunders spent the last two seasons in the Black and Gold: totaling 100 tackles (42 solo), two sacks and his famous interception against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football last year.
Now, the two-time Super Bowl champion will play for his third different team in the last four years.
On the other side, Fortner has been in Jacksonville since the Jaguars drafted the center in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
The former Kentucky Wildcat has started 34 games in Duval and played in 51 total contests.
With injuries mounting on the offensive line, the Black and Gold added more depth to the trenches, while entering the final week of the preseason.
