Organizers ramp up security as Kentucky State Fair kicks off
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — The first weekend of the 2025 Kentucky fair was greeted with huge crowds and high temperatures. With huge crowds come security risks, and event organizers are taking no chances when it comes to guest safety.

The fair has invested millions of dollars in a new security camera system as well as increased police patrols around the campground, according to the FOX affiliate in Louisville, WDRB.

Event organizers also said the chaperone policy would return in 2025. This policy requires anyone under the age of 18 to be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years old. IDs will be checked at the door. Only six minors are allowed per adult as well.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

The fair’s website also noted that fireworks, weapons, and aerial drones are strictly prohibited. The festivities run through Sunday, Aug. 24.
