
SCCSO said deputies were helping its Code Enforcement unit at a property in unincorporated San Jose when they made the alarming discovery.
The dogs were provided with food and water and are now safely residing at a foster home, said the sheriff’s office.
Authorities did not elaborate on the conditions of where the animals were found. The date and time of the incident was also not shared.
County of Santa Clara Animal Services is currently handling a criminal investigation on the case, said officials.
