Mansfield enters his third season at the helm as the Wildcats finished with a 10-17 record (8-10 Big 12) in 2024.
“It feels like these last two years have flown by,” Mansfield said. “It’s been great getting back in the gym with this group and watching them get better as the season is upon us.”
K-State was selected to finish 8th in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. Redshirt junior outside hitter Aniya Clinton was named to the preseason team.
Not a single player hit the transfer portal for the Wildcats, showing that the athletes want to play in front of the Wildcats crowd.
“Manhattan is a special place,” Mansfield said. “The chemistry is strong with the 11 returners, and the six freshmen have done a great job getting acclimated in the short amount of time.”
The Wildcats will have its Purple & White Scrimmage on Aug. 20 followed by a scrimmage on the road against Oklahoma on Aug 23.
K-State will open the regular season Aug. 29 in the K-State Invitational against UMBC.
