Jordan Stillerman, 20, of Indianapolis, is behind bars in Marion County Jail after the conclusion of the multi-county chase. He faces a slew of preliminary charges, including resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to the Indiana State Police, state troopers were alerted shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday that a stolen pickup was heading south on U.S. 31. Troopers spotted the truck in Fulton County and began pursuing the vehicle south on 31.
In Howard County, Stillerman is accused of ramming the stolen pickup into a Howard County Sheriff’s Department vehicle. The deputy driving the vehicle wasn’t injured.
Despite both rear tires being blown out by stop sticks, Stillerman kept driving south.
Two troopers also ended up being taken out of the pursuit due to hitting stop sticks deployed by another agency, state police said.
Multiple agencies continued to pursue Stillerman into Hamilton County despite the stolen truck driving on rims. On U.S. 31 near Sheridan, just north of 236th Street, Stillerman lost control of the pickup and rolled several times through the median, police said.
State police said Stillerman was ejected from the rolling pickup and located by deputies lying in a ditch. He was alert and conscious and transported to an Indianapolis hospital.
He was later released and booked into Marion County Jail.
Official charges have not yet been filed against Stillerman in connection with the crash. Due to the chase spanning multiple counties, Stillerman could face criminal charges in multiple counties.
