Rain hopes fade: Rain has been rather scattered across the ArkLaTex on Thursday, as much of the area has again stayed dry. Futurecast shows that any rain that has developed this afternoon will end this evening. We will see a clear to partly cloudy sky tonight. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine on Friday. Rain will be possible, but most of the area will stay dry. Expect much of the same for Friday night and Saturday. Sunday will probably be a hot and dry day.
Friday temperatures: Most of our area will see slightly above-normal temperatures on Friday. Lows Friday morning will begin in the middle 70s. We will see daytime highs warm into the mid to upper 90s. The heat index will likely approach, or even exceed, 105 degrees in spots. A Heat Advisory will be in effect.
Long-range outlook: Dry weather will settle over the ArkLaTex on Sunday and continue through the middle of next week. The upper ridge will weaken during the last half of the week. This will allow the heat to ease a little and the chance of rain to return. Overnight lows during the next ten days will likely stay in the middle 70s. Daytime highs will begin the period in the mid to upper 90s. They could ease into the low to middle 90s by the end of next week.
