In a Facebook post, Grand County Search and Rescue crews responded to the area on a report of a 70-year-old hiker that fell and injured their knee, preventing them from traveling back down the mountain.
Crews from Grand County, along with the Mountain Medical Response Team (MMRT) and the U.S. Forest Service, were able to reach the injured hiker just after 1 p.m. They were able to provide medical care and carry the hiker down the mountain. The hiker’s significant other, also in their 70’s, was helped down the mountain as well.
All personnel were safely off the mountain by mid-afternoon.
