love the university. We’ve done a lot of great things here with hard work, but there’s a lot of unfinished business.”

The three-year agreement is the longest extension allowed by the Kansas Board of Regents.

Higgins became the 22nd head coach in program history in December 2006 and is the winningest active coach in the MIAA, and his 113 victories rank fifth all-time in Association history.

“This extension reflects our commitment to sustaining success at the highest level,” Rodecap said. “The one thing this program has figured out, better than anywhere that I have seen, is culture. The culture in this program is outstanding, and it is because of Coach Higgins.”

Emporia State will kick off the 2025 season on Aug. 23 against Minot State.
