Hillsboro firefighters rescue 2 from burning home

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two people were rescued from a burning home in Hillsboro in the early hours of Saturday, with one of them rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Within 4 minutes of getting the call, Hillsboro Fire & Rescue crews were at the house, 3170 NE 4th, and rescued both people 4 minutes later, officials said on their Facebook page.

Both people needed “aggressive life-saving medical interventions,” authorities said.

As that was happening, fire crews managed to control the fire, air out the house and secure the safety of the nearby homes, officials said.

No further information on the patients’ conditions is available. The cause of the fire is still to be determined.
