FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Unified is expanding its menu and offering free meals to all students this school year.

Under USDA guidelines, the district says it will provide meals at no cost to all enrolled students regardless of their parents’ income – no meal application required.

The program is part of the Community Eligibility Provision, which allows high-poverty schools to expand access to free school meals.

This school year, the district is also introducing several new menu items, including:

  • Italian penne pasta
  • Mashed potato chicken bowl
  • Cheeseburger sliders
  • Chicken burrito bowl
  • Buffalo chicken pizza
  • Cheese-stuffed pasta shells
  • Fiesta scramble breakfast bowl
  • Upside-down blueberry pancake bowl
  • Breakfast pizza bagel

Students and parents can find nutritional and allergen information by downloading the school meals app. The app can be found by searching for “School Menus by Nutrislice” on the App Store, or by visiting fresnounified.nutrislice.com.
